Amethyst

Amethyst is a variety of quartz that is popular for its beautiful purple color, but also comes in other color variations naturally from deep purple that is almost black to red to a light purple that is almost pink. Purple amethyst tis the traditional birthstone for February. Amethyst's energetic properties are said to include: a calming energy that can help to reduce stress and anxiety, promote intelligence and clarity of thought, offer protection from negative energy, promote spiritual growth and connection to the divine. It is a popular stone for meditation and said to be a good "pocket rock" to carry with you when you are feeling stressed or anxious.
